Ólafur Davíðsson (1862–1903) was a biologist and ethnographer. Ardent collector of folktales he is well known in Iceland for his work in the field. This book contains his diaries 1881 - 1884 when he was a young man in Reykjavík and Copenhagen. It provides a unique view at his environment.
