Þuríður Einarsdóttir (1777 - 1863) was better known as Þuríður formaður or captain Þuríður. One of few female sea captains in her time, she was a known character in and around Stokkseyri. Her role in solving a famous crime, has also helped in strengthening her reputation and legacy.
