Eva Björg Ægisdóttir had a marvelous debut on the Icelandic crime novel scene with Marrið í stiganum (2018). Akranes, a town in the west of Iceand, remains the stage here in this novel as well and we get to follow detective Elma tackle a new case. A young man dies tragically in a fire and the accident has a great effect on the whole community.
