Samúel Jónsson (1884 - 1969) was a farmer in the Westfjords of Iceland. He was also a folk artist extraordinaire and built his own church when the local church wouldn't accept his altarpiece. Then he purchased cement for his pension money and started working on a series of sculptures modeled on the palace and gardens of Alhambra. Not much has been written about this outstanding Icelandic artist and this book is a much welcome remedy to that.
