The author of this book Elías Snæland Jónsson, was the editor of "Dagur" 1997 - 2001, a newspaper that was built on the merger of three political newspapers in Iceland, Tíminn, Þjóðviljinn and Alþýðublaðið. The newspaper positioned itself as a left of the middle kind of newspaper but soon suffered the same demise as its forerunners. Here Elías offers an insightful view into the state of affairs in Icelandic journalism at the time as well as society.
