Bjarni Guðmundsson is a retired professor at the Agricultural University of Iceland, Hvanneyri. The past years he has dedicated his time to writing the agricultural history of Iceland in his series on the history of Icelandic farming methods. This is the third book in the series, the first two being Íslenskir sláttuhættir (2015) and Íslenskir heyskaparhættir (2018). Here he covers the history of various cultivation methods in Iceland.
