There can hardly be more horrible disease than leprosy. The history of leprosy in Iceland is tightly knit with history of the disease in Norway. It came to Iceland from Norway in the fourteenth century and both countries fought it by enforcing a straight quarantine, almost outcast. This is at times a gruesome history approached here in an empathetic manner by dr. Erlu Dóris Halldórsdóttur.
